What is Geothermal Energy?

What is ground source heating (also called geothermal power)?  It’s not a new idea, though it has become more common now in this age of renewed environmental consciousness.  Our Bosch®technicians can come and give you an estimate on how much it would cost to begin to power your house inexpensively.

How it works is beautifully simple.  Geothermal heat pumps are able to heat, cool, and, if so equipped, supply homes and buildings with hot water. A geothermal heat pump system consists of a heat pump, an air delivery system (ductwork), and a heat exchanger—a system of pipes buried in shallow ground. In the winter, the heat pump removes heat from the heat exchanger and pumps it into the indoor air delivery system. In the summer, the process is reversed, and the heat pump moves heat from the indoor air into the heat exchanger.
The heat removed from the indoor air during the summer can also be used to provide a free source of hot water.

Let’s Talk Warm and Cold

Heating and air conditioning is so much more than temperature, it’s the key to the environment of your home or workplace.  It’s the way buildings breathe.  It is also a key element to energy conservation and day to day cost control.

No two systems are entirely alike.  Our American Standard® and Mitsubishi® qualified technicians can create a customized system providing the comfort you expect, while not being more than you can afford.  You shouldn’t have to think about your heating and ventilation system, it should work the way it’s supposed to.  It’s our job to make sure that happens.
There are several ways to make sure your heating, ventilation and air conditioning operate smoothly.  The first involves the preparation.   We work together with the builder in new construction to make sure the structure is properly sealed.  The best system in the world won’t work the way it should if all the hot or cool can escape from window seams and door jambs.
A good mechanical contractor will work with the builder to make sure the proper sealing is taking place.  There are other factors that sometimes get bypassed for consideration, including the effect many windows has on heating and cooling, or the importance of regular duct cleaning.
We want our work and dedication to speak for itself, feel free to come by the office in downtown Davenport to talk about what solution would be best for you.
